New Camera Bag

I recently had the requirement for a new camera bag. My old shoulder bag had served me well, but was just getting too small and it wasn't the most comfortable bag to use if you had to carry it for an extended period of time.
I liked the idea of a backpack for comfort, but this would just not work for me. The accessibility of a shoulder bag was a definite requirement (let's face it who wants to take off a backpack every time you need access to your camera or other piece of equipment?). I started to investigate my options when I stumbled upon the Slingshot range of bags from Lowepro - they looked very promising.
With a single wide strap worn diagonally it is normally worn as a backpack - when you need access to your gear swing it around to the front. A built in raincoat for the bag was also a bonus.

So, it was off to the camera store with my gear to see if it would fit and to have a trial run. The SlingShot 200 AW was just right - specifically designed for digital it easily accommodated my Olympus E300 (with battery grip and tripod mount attached) extra lenses, flashcards, flash and other bits and pieces.
It was an easy choice!
The bag has now been on lots of outings including international travel (no problems with size or weight) and I must say that I am not disappointed! A great camera bag when you need to be ready quickly without compromising on comfort.
Just a quick update on the slingshot. While it served me well for a couple of years there is some further information that I would like to add.
As you expand your equipment and start to carry more around you will find that the Slingshot is not a comfortable option for long walks. You end up carrying all of the weight on your right shoulder (a Hip strap would be nice). I often found that I was carrying my camera separately from the slinghot.
Apart from getting access to your camera it is not convenient to access other gear without removing your bag.
After a couple of years the zip busted (and you guessed it, just before I was due to go on a trip).
I ended up replacing it with a larger Tamrac bag. It is much better build quality and should serve me well.
