Adobe Lightroom Available
For those who don't know. Lightroom is an application that allows you to process and manage your image files.
As a Rawshooter Premium purchaser I am entitled to a free copy of the new Adobe Lightroom product due for release shortly (according to post on the Adobe forums it should be available by 23rd of February 2007). I have just downloaded the 30 day trial copy to get started.
It looks like it is going to be a bit of a learning curve before it becomes an effective tool. I guess that I am going to have to start going through some of the documentation.
After using Rawshooter for about 18 months the interface is quite different and more complex. I guess that's the price you pay for adding extra functionality!
On a positive note I like the idea of being able to use the one application to also sort and tag images by keyword. As I now have several thousand images it is starting to become difficult to manage. This should help to ease the pain.
There is also a Rawshooter Migration Tool which will be available to download on the 5th March 2007. I understand that this allows you to convert your Rawshooter Premium Settings to Lighroom.
True to their word Adobe have sent me a FREE licence for the first release of their new Lightroom photo editing/management software.
I am keen to see what the migration tool will bring!
